People could sue you for that you know!

We've made it to Namibia! It's been an intense few days of driving, from Cape Town to our current location of Keetmanshoop. Major, major kudos firstly to Marike, then secondly to both redbull and creative car games. Not having great internet or an immense amount of time I'm going to try to summarise our stay in Cape Town and our journey up to Windhoek thus far...

On the 28th we drove from Stellenbosch to Cape Town hoping to stay at Once, the hostel were I'd originally stayed upon arriving in Cape Town. Unfortunately they were fully booked so we ended up at the Ashanti Lodge just down the road. Luckily this was also a great hostel where we met some great people including:

Anton: the local San Pedro maker/healer (check out his company  Impact in Facebook!)
Claudio: the lovely German who we may or may not have stalked with love notes left in his bread bag written in our version of German
Glenn: a very friendly, slightly eccentric gentleman who taught us the tricks of the trade when it comes to shot jenga

Some of our Cape Town highlights include:

- A trip to Simonstown to see the penguins by train! Crazy experience, slightly uncomfortable to begin with but the journey back during rush hour was great, our coupe being full of the happiest people. Highlight within a highlight: Lola singing Hey Jude and a complete stranger kindly informing her that she could be sued for butchering a song like that.

- A dinner at Mama Africa including free cocktails and a shot for tardy service followed by a platter of wild game. Ostrich is definitely my new favourite meat!

- Two nights out with my lovely friends from Once

On the 4th of July we waved Cape Town goodbye from our massive Nissan and started our journey up to Windhoek with no concrete plan. On the first day we made it up to Bitterfontein were we stayed in the cutest little guesthouse (Dawn Ridge guesthouse for you die hard Tiger followers) and continued up to the Namibian border today. Once again experienced a little racism here in Keetmanshoop where we weren't served for looking like 'boers'. We asked the lady who owns this guest house what to do to avoid this to which she responded 'dont look to smart'. She also sucked her teeth upon hearing where we were heading to next and told us to watch out for kidnappers and robbers. No pressure!

Those of you who know me well know I can be a little sarcastic at times and many things I write here are to be taken with a pinch of salt! Also bear in mind that not everything we experience is interesting to read about hence only the more dramatic making the blog cut. Of course up until now everything has been going swimmingly, otherwise I wouldn't be able to update you all right now so extensively! Today we drove through the most beautiful, picturesque sceneries from rain to sunshine and from rainbows to sunsets to stars. We stressed at each other and giggled like school girls. This trip so  far has been the craziest most exciting adventure I've had the privilege to experience and although I wish I could capture it all into words these posts simply scratch the surface of the moments we're living.

Many loves to you all, Tiger Laylay xo
